Syllabus

Electricity fundamental to understanding arc welding: direct current, alternating current, single-phase and polyphase systems. Power calculation. Conventional and electronic welding power sources. Gases applied in arc welding processes. Technological aspects related to welding and cutting mechanization systems. Physical fundamentals and properties of the welding electric arc and its requirements regarding power sources. Arc striking in various welding processes. Basic study of metal transfer in various processes.

Electricity and electronics applied to arc welding processes – 4 hours
Power sources for voltaic arc welding – 6 hours
Effect of different shielding gases – 4 hours
Characteristics of arc striking in various arc welding processes – 4 hours
Characteristics of the welding voltaic arc – 4 hours
Basic study of metal transfer – 4 hours
Mechanization systems for arc welding – 4 hours
