The general objective of the project is to develop an automated system for the remote maintenance and inspection of large-scale structures, such as those found in Flares of Platform Ships and Refineries, as well as tanks on these platform ships. The inspection will initially be visual, and the recovery of structures will be carried out by reconstituting the walls of the structural elements through welding technology, to be implemented into the automated system during the Project, and by coating these structures using a painting process.
POTENTIAL IMPACTS OF THE RESULTS:
Extend the lifespan of Flares and Tanks on Platform Ships
Remove workers from a dangerous task,
Unblock important facilities for the national infrastructure.
AREA / SECTOR OF APPLICATION OF THE RESULTS:
Oil and Natural Gas
